Supporting Our Project

Team Green in action and the Damflask Project

“We know that this boathouse is the first of its kind to involve young people like ourselves in its design and construction. We hope you will support us, and follow progress on our blog. We want this to be a project that is ‘made in Sheffield’,  by local people and businesses – large and small.

Soon we will have a shopping list which will detail all the construction skills and environmentally friendly building materials we will need to put this together. Any company who cares about our planet will be invited to take a look at our list and see if they can help us and become ‘friends of the dam flask project’.”

Here are just a few other great reasons to support us:

The 2012 Olympics is inspiring a new generation of sportsmen and women. We are reinforcing the ‘healthy lifestyle’ message to future generations.

In line with The National Policy Framework and Regional Strategies, our project both facilitates AND promotes sustainability.

The project actively demonstrates the different careers involved in its development, from design and construction through to finance and PR, even politics!

The project encourages participants at all levels to learn about sustainability from a grass roots point of view.

On 19th May, students at Bradfield School were issued with the following challenge:

"Your client, Dam Flask Rowing Centre, needs a new building, as their existing facilities are no longer fit for purpose."
